While curbside pickup had been steadily gaining traction in grocery, the pandemic cemented this contactless and convenient service’s place in the weekly shop, with all signs–including those in parking lots across the country—pointing to curbside pickup becoming an increasingly critical component of grocer’s omnichannel offerings.
WGB and Incisiv’s annual Digital Benchmark report found that 86% of retailers now offer BOPIS and 71% now offer curbside pickup. But in today’s highly competitive grocery landscape, it is not enough to simply offer these services.
